My journey began in 2008 when I launched TheCoolestOut.com, a music blog centered around the exploration of new and emerging artists. In the two years that I managed the site, I was able to raise awareness, albeit grassroots, for many of my favorite artists as well as discover many who would eventually become my favorite artists; a win-win as far as I'm concerned.
Although I'm no longer a music blogger, I'm still very passionate about discovering talented emerging musicians. Because of this, my music collection has now grown larger than my devices can hold, so I've embarked on a project to have access to my entire library anytime and any where I go, wirelessly.
To achieve this feat, I've setup a (Subsonic Media Streamer) to scan my iTunes library and broadcast it over the internet and then linked a vanity url with the broadcast station. It's still very much in beta, and goes down semi-frequently, but when it wants to work correctly it's pretty dope. Hit the link below or head to music.treylove.me and browse my tunes, you may find something you like!
WyldwickOne of the things I find the most joy from and am extremely passionate about is designing. In fact, I got into web development because I wanted to turn my web designs and mockups into actual sites. When the opportunity presented itself to design the logo for a new candle company, it was one I could not resist. When I first connected with the owner of Wyldwick, she told me she wanted a typography based logo utilizing slate blue, black, white, or coral and reminiscent of a couple of fonts she liked that she sent through to me. After going through my extensive library of fonts I’ve collected over the years I found a few that I really liked and put together six different concepts. After a little back and forth we landed on the final concept. Head over to Wyldwick’s Etsy store to order your handmade candles today and thanks so much Sarah Peerani for connecting the dots for this gig! |

Greater Than One - MMUWhile I was at Greater Than One, a digital marketing agency based in NYC, I had the immense pleasure of working within their Media department. One of the initiatives we were working on internally was the creation of a bimonthly newsletter. Seeing an opportunity to put to use some of my design and coding expertise, I worked with our department’s director to nail down the look, feel, and design of the newsletter. Though I may have written the code for this project, this really was a total team collaboration. There was amazing direction, guidance, and proofing from the Director of the Media department, Associate Director, and Media Supervisors. Not to mention some stellar writing from the Planners on the team. |

Band Of ColorsBand Of Colors was an ecommerce site I built for a startup collegiate clothing line. This site was fairly intensive with not only the ecommerce functionality, but also database management of customers and facebook connect integration allowing new users to create accounts and purchase products seamlessly by linking their facebook account to the site. Check it out, order some gear, and support the cause! |

Watters CreativeI had the immense pleasure of partaking in an art-for-art exchange with a very talented artist, Megan Watters. She was looking to expand the flexibility of her Wix hosted art portfolio, so I helped her transition the entire process to the WordPress.org platform. From a design perspective, she knew exactly what she wanted – which was minimalism – so the build was fairly straightforward. In exchange she turned my logo into a canvas work of art that I proudly have hanging up in my office! |

Fly DossierFly Dossier was a monthly online magazine I conceptualized, to talk on the topics of: art, fashion, music, and technology from a creative perspective. All of the content was written by me, and each month I wrapped the site in an entirely new style.css creating the visual illusion of a new issue. This was an especially ambitious partaking as I quickly found out and needed to focus my time on my actual career, but I loved the design and concept and hope to re-launch it one day. |

Sleep CardiaSleep Cardia and Wellpoite Sleep Diagnostic Center were clients of SOUND MGMT, an image+brand marketing company, owned and operated by a couple of college friends of mine. This was my very first attempt at developing a Joomla site template and it was a ton of fun and an instrumental learning experience. The site was built off the HTML5 Boilerplate Framework and CSS3 with a couple of Joomla extensions for enhanced site functionality. |

80's Baby80's Baby Management, LLC was an artist branding and digital marketing company that I created shortly after closing my music blog, The Coolest Out. After managing my blog for several years, I wanted to put my know-how to use and work with some of the artists I'd developed relationships with during that period. The idea of the company was to operate as a nimble unit pulling together all of the digital elements necessary to create a buzz (website creation, social media development, and digital marketing & PR efforts) for the musician. My initial client was a rapper from Boston, named Marc Antoni. I worked with him leading up to and following the release of his free digital EP, Overnight. Working with publicist Justin Melo, we were able to secure the hosting services of premier hip-hop online media outlet DjBooth.net for the release. Through the use of html templates that I created, we were able send out timely releases to other major music outlets (like 2DopeBoyz) so that they could post the release information and further spread the news. CMS EnergyFresh out of college, I started my professional experience with Consumers Energy, an energy and utilities company based in Michigan. While there I worked within their Business Technology Solutions department helping them visually articulate their new intranet portal. I worked directly with each of their departments stakeholders in the portal, listening to and understanding their specific departments needs, wants, and must haves within the interface. After countless wireframes and mockups I came up with my final design. |

Harvest CreativeIn the summer of 2010, while still in college I had the immense pleasure of interning for a content creation and music supervision agency, Harvest Creative Services. The agency also offered music licensing services, most notably to Jeff Daniels and his music imprint Boomadeeboom Records. Not really certain what I could do as an intern, I gladly offered up my photoshop skills and created a handful of designs that inevitably wound up as a couple tour poster and t-shirt designs for Jeff. Without question one of the most enjoyable places I've ever worked at! |
Coming soon. A spot where I'll be speaking candidly about everything that I love: music, fashion design, watches, algorithms, advertising, etc. It will basically be a hodgepodge of topics, thoughts and standpoints wrapped in a fresh custom designed wordpress theme.
